Hi all,

My 235 also is casting #3837004, has serial number 0891564F255X. A
machine shop source told me that it was a 55'-57' 235/261 with either solid
or hydraulic lifters. This (I think) came as the stock engine in my 59'
1-Ton. I'm interested in any info also. I believe mine is a 235, not a
261. Line built NAPCO Chevy's were only offered with the 235, so I'm
assuming... How can you tell without tearing it down?

Kevin
59' Apache 38/NAPCO

<<I was wondering if any of the members of the list has a way to dechiper
the following engine ID: TI204A (letter T and letter I). According
theInliners casting numbers list it is a '55-'57 235/261 engine
(3837004). I wonder if the engine ID can yell me from which type of
car/truck this engine came from.

Thanks, Antonio>>
