As far as I know, the only difference in 55.2
thru 59 stepside short, medium or longbed fenders
is whether or not the driver's side has a cut out
for a spare. Fiberglass replacements are definitely
available without the cut out for the spare, in
both standard and 3" wider than normal. I have a
set of them on my '57 GMC with 89" bed. I wanted
to stay with steel, but without the spare cutout.
I could not find a decent replacement for my
driver's side so I ended up going fiberglass
standard width. I kept the steel ones (great
shape) just in case.

I'll check at home tonight and see if I can
find the name of the company. I remember that
they were in the southeast US.

Does anyone know if fenders (fiberglass or refurbished) are available for a
'56 3600? The only catalog that I have with fenders stops at '54.

Thanks-
