" The Stellite is an Italian patent for some steel alloy. They are
still
available and are the valves of choice for heavy duty applications."

Please allow me to make a correction. Stellite and stainless steel were
invented in Kokomo, Ind , by Elwood Haynes, around 1915. Elwood Haynes and
the Apperson Brothers are credited with the first commercially produced
automobile. Mr. Haynes has many other inventions to his credit. If you would
like to read a little more about him go to:
http://members.iquest.net/~deglen/kokomo.html Stainless and Stellite
are not the same. Stellite is a super alloy , used by itself or as a coating.
