For those with quesy stomachs, you may want to skip this...

Last summer I was heading down I-75 near Tampa, at my usual GMC cruise speed of
80 or so, 302 loafing at about 2500 RPM. As usual during the summer "Dog Days",
I had the cowl vent up and the wing vents cocked open to blast air on my
sweatin' bod...
Life is good. Suddenly a loud "CR-AAA-CK" and I can't see, and there is
something ON MY FACE! I reach up and it feels sticky. In a panic I hit the
brakes and head for the shoulder. Lucky no other cars were close. When I get
stopped, heart pounding, I pull off my shades and it slowly registers what
happened..My face, neck and shoulders are dripping a yellow, crunchy slime. It
seems to be originating from the passenger side vent glass...I have collided
with one of these disguting Florida "Lubber" grasshoppers (about 4" long
usually), or maybe two in a fatal mating embrace! At 80 MPH it was no contest,
the thing just exploded into my cab. YE-UCH! At that moment I decided I would
not go another summer without A/C. To this day I am still finding grasshopper
bits in remote corners of my cab!
