Here in Colorado, I had to get an emissions test before I could get my
plates.  The emissions testing is done by private companies.  I believe
the testing must be repeated every two years, but I could be remembering
wrong.  I do remember that if I get "classic vehicle" plates for my truck,
I won't have to get its emissions tested ever again.
