Its common for the Rochester bowl to warp, letting fuel seep. When carb top
is off check surface on a sheet of glass for warpage. Note when you pump
throttle with engine off, fuel level in bowl will go down as it is squirted
into throat. Other common problems are crud in needle making carb flood, or
worn throttle shaft holes letting air in for lean mix.
