1. If it has the original engine, it is a full pressure insert bearing engine. 

2. GMC engine numbers are stamped on the distributor pad - first 3 digits are 
the engine displacement (228, 248, 270 etc).

3. The Zenith was used on most GMC's. It's an OK carburetor.

4. Bypass filter; elements are available from all the usual sources.

"Loadmaster" was a Chevy truck engine designation - not used on GMC's to my 
knowledge. Does this appear on the truck anywhere? What is model number (on 
driver side door post)?

Just bought it.  Great shape.  

1)  Will it have babbit bearings?

2)  What engine will it have, it's a strait 6.

3)  The zenith carb cleaned up well, i'm planning on useing it, unless
another would be better?

4)  It has what i think is a stock oil filter, are replacement filters
availible?  It's the size of a tomatoe juice cam, has a bail on the
top.  Sound familier?
