The 1939/1940 GMC AC-150 brochure features "The GMC ALL-STEEL PICKUP" with a
steel floor with 8 stamped skids that run the length of the bed. They
appear to be about 2 1/2" wide - and not at all similar to the wood bed and
steel skids shown in the 1940 Chevrolet truck brochure. The 1939-1950 GMC
Light Truck Parts Book lists pickup bodies in "prime" - available in 6 1/2,
7 1/2 and 9 foot lengths. The AC-150 bed measures 48 1/2" wide on the
inside, 16" high and 91" long. The tailgate is embossed with an oval
bearing the vintage GMC script. 'Hope this helps!
