Brian,
Sounds like a special purpose vehicle to me. Your list includes items
that you must have a use for, so the idea should work well for you.
Take about $5.00 of that $300.00 you have stashed and go pick up one of
those 5 subject college notebooks at Wal-Mart. Write down this plan, and
then use the notebook as your project guide.
You can log various stages of your project, keep track of parts sources
and part numbers and parts costs. You can update or modify your plan as you
learn things on down the road, and it'll be a good record of where this
thing came from if you ever do get this project completed. A good initial
investment, I think.
