Yeah, I remember those going out alot, I read that the hot rodders finally
had to show GM how to build them right , by After-market rebuilds using
really Heavy Duty thrust bearings instead of the little thin things the Bean
Counting division of Design Engineering probably insisted be installed to
save a few pennies. Why they insist on cutting corners is beyond me, as you
usually pay for it later in lost future sales, bad feelings, etc. No car
company should EVER let the bean counters take control! They should be run by
car people, not investors. It's not a bad thing to have a cost control
advisor, but don't ever let them run the company! Sheesh! It's sad to say it,
but Chrysler has been more innovative lately with their wild cars that are
making it to production, and GM has finally seen the light by coming up with
the SSR concept. Now THAT's a new vehicle I'd open my wallet for ! Not many
new cars or trucks raise any desire in me, but this one sure does! Now if
they'd only come up with a TF truck clone....
