I just purchased a 1948 Chevy 1-1/2 Ton Truck at an auction for $50. Its
complete and altho all the glass is busted out, the floor is rusted thru,
and the transmission seems to be locked up, it seems to be a great candidate
for a restore job.

Problem is, I want to get the info on the engine and cant find the casting
number anywhere. Its a newer style 235 I think so it isnt original, but I
need to know where else to look other than forward of the fuel pump and any
place visible on the left side of the engine. I DO have a serial number off
the distributor area of the block. Its
F0922-JC. Does anyone have an idea of what engine this is? Or do I need to
start removing engine parts to locate the casting number?
