All 261 are full pressure, in the sense that that the crankshaft has insert 
main and rod bearings, for full pressure lubrication from the oil pump (no dip 
and splash)...But only the '58 - '62 261's have provision for full pressure 
remote oil filters. Earlier models use only a cannister (bypass) filter, or 
none at all. Even the '58 - '62 261's may not have the hoses and filer head 
installed, but the fittings are there.

I have been e-mailing someone about a 261 engine. Are all 261's full oil
pressure ? Is this truly the engine to get if you're going to upgrade from a
216 ?
