I hear that in 1954 a person could order a 1/2 Ton (3100) with an optional
automatic transmission. In fact, I know a local owner of one. Its very rare
to see an authentic automatic tranny in an AD pickup. If this is true, I
HAVE one of these transmissions. Someone put an automatic trans in my latest
1950 with the torque tube setup, so I know its the same one that was
optional in 1954 (since the torque tube didnt go away until 55 1st series).

So the question is, does anyone have a need for a broken automatic trans
like this? Where would a person take it to get it fixed properly? I am sure
parts are almost non-existent. I am no auto tranny man, so I would have to
rely on someone who is to fix it. I am sure its worth something but I don't
know what its worth. Any ideas? I am taking it out and putting in a 3spd
standard with overdrive.
