i had the same problem with my 57. i found out i was useing the wrong ground 
pin, theres one that it shows on the books, but its wrong, theres one, 
higher up, almost on the top of the switch that is the one you want to use. 
look straight up from the one your useing now. it should work if i remember 
correctly.
