[oletrucks] Shortening choke cable

What's the best way to shorten a choke cable?  The PO of my truck put on a
new choke cable and it's about a foot too long.  Any way to cut it
off......and still have the center wire sticking through long enough to
fasten to the carb?  Thanks for the help.
