I have started the look for a working 6 volt AM (or AM/FM) radio. I would
like something with the speaker built into it. I have looked at one of them
there auction sites and am more confused as to what I need. Is there a web
site that has info on what would be original. I have an antenna built into
the driver side and the wire is inside the right kick. I am guessing that
at one time it had a radio attached under the dash.

Are there a series of radios that would work here. Are parts hard for a
tube radio or should I only look for "solid state"? How can I tell if a
radio is a 6v or 12v. I found a Motorola Solid State Am Car Radio from a
Corvair but I do not know if it is a 6 volt. We are about 1 hour north of
Boston so I think I can get a number of AM radio stations. I want to try to
stay original. Would an old radio pull in AM like my current car radio?

Thanks for any input,
