What size tires have folks put on stock 16" rims??

I'm looking for tires for a daily driver, a '49 Panel.  I'd like to
maintain a standard look/feel to the vehicle but would like the
ride/handling of a radial.

www.tirerack.com is asking $57 for
BFGoodrich Radial Long Trail T/A size 235/70SR16

seems like a good price.....but,
...are these tires too wide for the 5" rims??
