I'm not ready to re-install mine as yet, and have been wondering about new
clips....
The original clips has small rubber plugs on them, so that when the clip was
inserted, it would seal the hole. If your clips don't have these, I would
try to find some that do, however I don't know if these even exist. As a
side note, a friend of mine had a little trouble installing his trim with
new clips, to the point that all he had was a bent-up piece of junk when he
was finished. Before I attempt this I am planning on making a small
installation tool out of a block of wood cut to conform to the cross-section
of the trim, this should distribute the load, from pressing, across a larger
area and hopefully prevent any bends.

 Hi,
I am getting ready to install the stainless trim on the cab, I bought new
mounting clips are these supposed to be sealed? The old clips were badly
rusted and there was rust around the mounting holes on the cab. I checked
the
Chevy assembly manual it does not show any sealing around the clips. Does
any
one know if there was a rubber seal around these or some kind of sealer? It
just seems like water would run in the lower holes and into the cab.

Thanks for any help.
