Greg,
Yes, you are right I tried to use the same method for installing the rear
glass as the method used for installing the front windshield. I guess my
reasoning was that if the front glass was bigger and went in so easily, why
not try the same for the rear? Basically I busted the rubber and put a small
crack on the edge of the glass, now I need to reorder both.

Thanks again for you help.

Were you trying to install it with a rope as you would the front Windshield?
If so, that is wrong. You have to put the gasket on the pinchweld and then
install the glass using what we (I own a autoglass shop) call a windshield
stick or bone tool. It is a plastic stick about 10" long, 3/4 wide. You
put the glass in the bottom first and "lip the gasket sides and top over the
edge of the glass. Then you insert the rubber lace last. If the glass is
sized right it is not to difficult. Glass should be approx. 5/16 smaller
than the opening on each side or 5/8" smaller overall width and height.
Good luck.

I found the rear window to be a pain in the ass. I did it twice (first one
broke) and it took several hands and a bucket full of patience. You need to
work the rubber into place with either wooden sticks or plastic silverware
and lots of lubricant.
