If it's a Chevy, you might find it in a book "Chevrolet by the Numbers".
There are a few for different years but I find all the info I wanted from the
book for a rear end I picked up. Found it at the local Library.

Have a tag off a late(?) model rear-end that I found, dont know what it is
out of but there was a tag on the pumpkin cover P\N 10032245 , ratio 3:27
serial number 4962 . Anyone have a way of knowing where this thing came
from or out of? No other numbers on the axle. Thanx for any and all help.
