Try Hella H4's, they drop in if you are running 12 volts. You may want to
beef up the wiring and install a relay if you are going to run brighter
lights, since they draw a lot more current than the old non-halogen sealed
beams. My '94 miata actually uses the good old big round lights (7"?) and
the H4's are really bright and nice. I can see farther with those than with
my wife's BMW projector lights. Sylvania/Philips halogens are decent too.
Making sure your wiring and ground is in good shape will really go far in
giving you good light, and clean your headlights with a rag every few days.
Make sure they are aimed well. If you can't find them in an auto parts store
locally try an offroad shop.

One of the list talked about headlights ... does anyone know of some
high quality replacement lights for old trucks? ('55 2nd in my case) ...
I'd love to have some projector beam lights, or something along that
scale. I know some new cars come with round lights, but most likely they
are all too small. Wonder if there is a way like someone said to make a
new housing with and have it made so you can insert a halogen bulb into
it, would be neat.
