Thanks to all the responses about the gauges. I forget who it was that
enlightened me that the 55 first series had 6 inch openings for the gauges.
I went home last night and measuered. Wow, he's correct. Now I am back to
my original idea from 3 years ago, the same way Joe in CA did it. The
billet aluminum inserts with the gauges in them.
