Hi all. I have a question concerning the speedometer on my 57. My old
speedometer looked bad and the odometer was broken so this past week I
replaced it with one that I had rebuilt and repainted. The speedo works but
there is one oddity i can't figure out. The old speedo used to read about 15
mph off high ..that is if I was doing 55mph it would read about 70. This new
speedo reads about 25 mph low..if I'm doing 55 it reads 30. I know the
speedo should be off because I've changed tire sizes and rear ends without
changing the speedo gear in the tranny but I don't understand why the new
one is off differently from the old one. Anyone got any ideas?
