Bill

How much room did the tray take up, and was it useful at all?

I am 6' 4" and I am hoping to leave the gas tank but install a Dodge Dakota
bench seat with built in seat belts. From your experience will this work?

I just thought it might be a neat original accessory to have installed.

Blaine

I have a knock off that supposedly is patterned off of an original. Had it
in my truck for years until I removed the tank from the cab to allow more
legroom (I'm 6'5") by installing bucket seats further back. I got it from
Heavy Chevy. They call it a "utility tray". It is still in the attic over
the garage somewhere. I'll check the Master Parts Book tonight and see if I
can find it.

Has anyone ever heard of an factory optional tool tray that fits on top of
the gas tank, behind the seat in a task force truck? He said it attaches to
the top of the gas tank and to the back of the cab.

The shop restoring my truck has one they tore out of a parts truck and they
say they will sell it to me very reasonably, what ever that means!

If someone has one and can send me a picture I would really appreciate that.

Even more so if someone has heard of one, what do they sell for? It's not
something I have aspired to have, but maybe someone else would like to buy
it.
