Does anyone have the spare tire carrier that mounts on the driver side of the
bed forward of the rear fender? I have one for my '53 Chevy 1/2 ton, but it's
been so long since I took it apart I can't remember if I have all of the
pieces! Could someone confirm that there are supposed to be two pieces of flat
steel (about 12" - 15")? One has square holes at each end for a carriage type
bolt and the other just has round holes? Is this correct? If so, can you
tell me where they go on the mounted carrier? I think they are used as
reinforcement of the bed sides so that the weight of the spare doesn't deform
the bed - but I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance!
