I really havn't gotten far enough to think about tires and rims. Right now i
have some tires that i picked up some place just to use to roll it around
and they are P275/60/R15 and they are close to 9" wide. I think my rearend
is off center because the measurements i took aren't the same from one side
to the other.
Can i get rims that will off set the tires one way or the other,,or maybe
spacers to push the tires out?

Maybe some guys on the list with a 55 TF 2nd can tell me what size rear-end
they are using, and maybe even what the rear end came out of, along with the
tire size?
                Thanks to all,
                Tom in SC

Hi Tom,

I don't own a TF so I can't speak directly to your question, but I will
suggest that it might be a little more complicated...

What wheels and tires are you planning to use? You want to make sure your
tires fit between the inner and outer fenders, and the offset of your
wheels, coupled with the width of the axle are what will determine if the
ones you have will fit or not.

But if you are running stock type wheels, and stock size tires, I'd be
willing to bet that a 62" wide axle will work just fine.

I have talked to many on the list and read Jim Forbes article about
rear-ends that will work for a 55 2nd TF. Everything i am hearing and
reading says I need a rearend with 61" from outside brake hub to outside
brake hub.
However i measured the original rear-end that is in the truck now and it
measures 62" Is the 61" a better fit or will a 62" rear-end work too?
Thanks, I just wanna make sure I get the correct rear-end.,
