  Steve, what you describe as body work is typical for these trucks. Take a 
look at some of the vendors web site catalogs. Look at all the patch panels 
they sell, and then look at your truck again. They have most all the panels 
that 
you'll need because all these trucks rust out in the same areas. 

As for the rusted frame, you might want to seek professional advise on that. 
It can be patched, but it will still be weaker than original. If it's real bad 
you might want to look at getting a donor frame from another truck of the 
same year.

 If these trucks were easy and cheap to fix up, than everybody would have 
one, and WE wouldn't be so unique.
