[oletrucks] 42 PU windshield molding installation

I have a 1942  Chevrolet 1/2 ton PU and need to replace the windshield rubber 
molding.  Can anyone give me tips on how to install this molding on the 
windshield.  Looks like it slips into a channel completely around the swing out 
windshield but what
lubricant do you use to make the molding slid along the channel.  

Any ideas?
