I'm building a '54 AD 1-Ton Panel Van, and I went with a firewall mounted
power master cylinder with top swing brake pedal from Classic Performance

The fit is great, and the mounting instructions are very easy to follow. They
have a tech section at their website which basically give you the
instructions on how to install one of many assemblies they sell. Here's a link

My kit came with the master cylinder, power booster, distribution block,
pressure switch, a huge beefy mounting bracket (which takes the place of the
stock
dash bracing rods) and brake pedal. In fact, the only things not included
were the pedal pad, proportioning valve, and fluid. After reading the
instructions (both online and the sheets included in the kit) it took me about
20 minutes
to drill my firewall, trim the spacer, and mount the whole assembly.

(note the key word thinking here. The XX has other projects "which
should take priority" but being a typical XY I'm reading classic trucks

about dusting off the old project truck and it is about time to think
about brakes. Still have the old drum/drum system with under the floor
MC.
I've seen a few TF trucks now that have been converted to an under dash
type pedal assembly with the power booster and master cylinder on the
firewall under the hood.
Anybody have any suggestions for what to look for (any models or years
that fit better than others) next time I spring the couple o' bucks to
look through the local pick and pull??
