I have not used a dolly, but when I brought my '56 TF truck home from
Missouri to Illinois I rented a two-axle "car hauler" trailer from U-Haul,
picked it up where I bought the truck and turned it in locally when I got
home. Price was pretty reasonable and included all the necessary hold-down
straps. I went the trailer route because I didn't know the condition of the
wheel bearings on the truck at the time and just thought it would be safer
to load the whole truck and not worry about pulling part of it on the road.
