I apologize for the multiple posts. I'll have to try and figure out what 
happened and not repeat it.

Thanks for the inputs.  I checked the front end alignment and found I 
was running about 1/4" toe out.
I adjusted it to about 1/8" toe in and was rewarded with a substantial 
improvement.  The residual instability may be just a perception caused 
by how "tippy" the truck feels compared to my others. I have a 69 C10 
that is lowered and has front and rear anti sway bars, and a stock 2000 
Silverado.  Both drive like they are on rails by comparison.  Perhaps my 
next step should be a front anti sway bar for the 53.

I apparently have a 216 intake and exhaust manifold on my engine.  I 
tried looking up the casting number but couldn't find a web site that 
listed them for the old sixes.  I'll have to decide whether to find a 
replacement manifold set at the upcoming swap meets or just wait and 
replace it with a Offy 2x1 and a set of Fentons.
