Sorry for the blank post earlier, seems anytime you paste anything into the 
body of a message it gets removed along with the rest of the message.  arghh...

Anybody know a way to visually tell a 305 HO engine from one that is not 
HO?? Numbers on the rear flange of the engine block are 14093627  found 
this on Mortec but not much info, its a 2 bolt main bearing block..
More number underneath the above is 5.0LG  (does this mean 5.0 Litter 
Gasoline engine?)
SG1 (anyone have any insight on the meaning of these numbers?)
The valve covers are only about 1.5 inches tall, as it does have a factory 
roller cam as per the engine ID number above. The covers are center bolt 
type with 4 hold downs...
The engine came from a 89 caprice...
It was bought to be a HO engine but the owner wants to be sure, anyway to 
visually tell??   --wayne
