Hi Tom,
Here in Southern California we have spiders but the biggest problem is
ants. The cure suggested to me by a Home Depot insecticide expert is
Triazicide which mixes with water and is sprayed on everything
outdoors using a hose-end sprayer; lawns, plants, walks, driveways,
patios, and the base of the house. Once dry, pets and little kids can
be on it but all the pest critters die or stay away. We have used it
once a month in summer for about five years with great success. I hope
it helps, we love it.
