Progress and problems. If you remember, when last we met oput hapless hero,
he was with truck sans engine. To make a long story short, I got another
engine, had it gone through completely, and brought it home last weekend. I
am now trying to get it fastened back into the truck only to find out that
there is no place for the front motor mount brackets to bolt to. The guy i
got the engine from told me it was in his 57 pickup unti lhe took it our to
put V8 in. He didn't tell me that it originally came out of a sedan. It has
3 engine mouont bolt hoes about mid-block and there are 2 holes in the front
lip of the front plate - but no flats with tapped holes at the front of the
block like on the original engine where the gbrackets were bolted. I manged
to get the left side bracklet bolted to teh generator bracket and that mount
installed, but I am not that happy with it ibecause there is only one 7/16"
bolt holding it on. The left side is still a mystery.

Has anyone been here before and come up wiwth a solution? Seems like the
best thing is a new mount that would bolt to the bottom of the front plate
and to the frame cross member, even if I have to drill new holes in the
frame. Anyone now what might work?

Thanks,
Bob
