Well, I discovered that 3-phase power is very difficult to get
installed in your home in New Zealand so the maximum power limit
on a compressor I could buy would be around 2.5hp (2.5 "true" hp).

In the junk mail today was an advertisement - "Ingersoll Rand Charge
Air" compressors, 10cfm at 125psi and 2hp $US260, or 12cfm at 125psi and
2.2hp for $US500. The smaller has a 25 litre tank and the larger has
a 45 litre tank. Is 45 litres too small?

Are these cfm/psi ratings acceptable to run air tools from?
Note that I am not going to be spending 40 hour weeks plugging away
with air tools exactly, I can put up with a little hassle - for some
reason I hate the idea of having electric cords everwhere.

Thanks,
Hamish
