Tyson,

My '74 (I think it's the same as a '73) has a round rheostat knob that
is black, skinny, and has a little white pointer on it.  I'm pretty sure
it's the original, as it matches the drawing in the owner's manual.  Is
this what yours has?  It is my understanding that these are expensive,
so maybe a PO replaced yours with something else?

Don't know for sure if the '71 (would be the same as your '72) has one,
and I don't want to drive out to my brother's machine shop to check, but
I don't think it does.  The VB catalog shows them for '73 and up, so I'm
assuming that anything earlier didn't have them.
