I think that the biggest problem here is that Moss is the BIGGEST in the
business. They even have parts that the others don't have. In 1986-1990,
when I was buying parts the first time around, FASPEC was my supplier of
choice, followed by Motorhead.

When I got serious about the car again in April, the guy at FASPEC who
answered the phone not only told me that they didn't have a catalog anymore,
but he BRAGGED that they are a reseller for Moss, therefore they had more
parts selection. Then he told me that Moss controls the business now, but
he could give me better pricing than if I bought it. I basically hung up on
him. That was the first I had heard about all this.

>From my posts, I figure that you all have guessed that I am a little frugal
with my money. I'll pay for quality, but not one red cent more than I have
to. I had a guy email me and tell me to stop whining about pennies when I
asked where I could get a fuel regulator less than the $40-$50 that Vicky
Brit wanted. I found out that NAPA had the EXACT same one for $20. Why
throw away twenty bucks if I don't need to. That's more than pennies to me.

Moss does have some good products, but I'll just buy them from Classic
Restorations, or one of the other guys that are discount resellers, saving
25% and no shipping charge works for me any time. I just can't think of a
reason to buy directly from them anymore.

But other times I'll have to go with Motorhead or Mini Mania, because,
generally, if there is a better part available out there, they carry it.
The quality of service, with Motorhead especially, seems to be equal if not
higher than Moss.

Vicky Brit might get thrown a bone every once in a while (I still can't
believe their shipping charges, they wanted $21 for that wiring harness, it
only cost $6 from British Wiring), and I haven't tried Winners Circle yet.
And I will always try to buy quality used or from the original supplier if I
can, like British Wiring.

My two cents, and its probably not worth one....
