A friend of mine has a 1275 in his 65. That car has more "balls"
than my 65/1098 or my 71 1275 ( must be the 1275 with the 4.3-1 rearend)
Get the 1275 and put a header on, if that isn't enough, go for a better
carb/intake setup. I think you'll like it alot !

JW>Thank you all for the information I've received while monitoring
JW>"Spridgets" over the past few months.
JW>I have a 65 Sprite that will be back on the road.
JW>I've been reading the messages back and forth and have priced 1275
JW>motors for the added power over my 1098 mill. I'm now reading in
JW>"Original Sprite and Midget" that the 1098 with the 2 inch mains, can be
JW>modified to a 10.5:1 comp. ratio to deliver 74bhp @ 6,000 rpm.
JW>Has anyone had any experience with reconfiguring the 1098 to these
JW>specs?
JW>Why would I want to buy a 1275, if I can modify my 1098 (assuming I can
JW>find a starter to crank it over)?

JW>Thanks,

JW>Jim
