Could be the rear main but is most likely the input shaft on the tranny.
They don't have a seal, just a spiral groove that is supposed to keep oil
from escaping.  There is an after market kit that replaces the front plate
on the tranny and provides a true seal. Of course the tranny has to be
removed to install.
