The spacers were after market items to lower the rear ride height (thin
at the rear, thick at the front). You can make them yourself pretty easily -
just make them < 1/4" at the thick part, 0 at the thin, and about 2" long.

As far as I know the original source for this lowering kit  was British
racer
Keith Ashby and was sold to the public by Jack Pearson Ltd in
Richmond-upon-Thames

There was a factory wedge spacer that was used to correct ride height
after sagging driver's side springs "settled". It was used to *raise* the
driver's side. it was part # AHA 6456 (taper packing plate). It was
discussed
in Austin Service Journal 15 Jan 1963
