Try using "ZAP-A-Gap" to glue the joints back together.  This product is made
by Pacer Technology and we have found it in hobby stores. When we redid our
side curtains about two years ago we cut the joints in order to install the
seals then glued them back to gather.  All of the joints are still intact.
