The octane rating system has changed since the manual was published.

I run any 89 octane gasahol (10% ethanol) in Puddles (67 1275) - never a
problem.  Amoco Ultimate was the only gasoline I ever had any trouble with
- I think they don't sell enough to keep a proper blend for the weather.
