Gary,

It is not unusual for the front wheel ball bearings to separate when
disassembling and does not hurt them to snap back together. It is important
that the inner and outer bearing be properly oriented or you could loss a
wheel due to bearing separation. Also there should be very little to no play
in the wheel after assembly. The ball bearing / spacer system on Spridgets is
a go - no go system; you put it together, tighten the nut and it is good or it
is not. If not then change the bearings. Several years ago we returned two
or three sets of "new" bearings because of excess wheel play and other
problems.

Our 2 cents

Good Luck

would not go all the way back into the outer race without a smack with the
handle of a hammer. Now, did I just ruin this bearing, was it not any good to
begin with, or is this normal? Are they supposed to come apart?Or is this a
case of different manufacturers have different styles of ball bearing...
Thanks a bunch in advance!>>
