I was just looking at dyno charts in Vizard's book. The results were
(don't recall what engine, 1275 or bored 1400) that the Weber 45 was
best above 5000 rpm and the 1.75 SU was better below 5000 rpm, although
the spread at any rpm was no more than 5hp or so. The dual 1.5 SUs were
slightly worse. I have heard that a new HIF6 SU is expensive, and it has
the throttle shaft bearing problem. On this limited evidence I would say
the Weber is the way to go. Availability of manifolds might be another issue.

Anybody have more info?
