Clutch pedal knob

I am just currious about something here. I have a cluch pedal with a
short spacer/stopper welded on it. I have seen many of these on mostly
early Sprites/Midgets (pre 67).
Can anybody tell me if Bugeyes came with them and or 1098cc models?
I cut them off because I run 1275s in all my cars but what years were
supposed to have this pedal stop?
