Hi Don,

If I remember right, the spring clips are a real pain.  You have to
compress and turn and the same time.  Only turn 90 degrees, Once you get
them out you will see why, but until you do kind of push with a pair of
needle nose pliers until they disengage.  

BTW I have only done them on early sprites, the late models might be a
little different.
