There are things you can do to 'help' an axle to break, such as;
* Spinning the wheels on the dirt/gravel at the side of the road and 
then they suddenly hit bitumen and grip
*spinning the wheels at all  (or trying to) when the driveline is 
cold (and at its most brittle)
