Hi Chuck,

Thanks for your response, even though I didn't ask the question this problem
has plagued me for months. My 1275 with a DCOE 40 weber has no bottom end. I'm
running a pretty heavy cam, a MD 286 Kent. At 2500 RPM it awful. 3500 she
screams. Explain to me what a 27 degree cam in the dizzy is. Do you mean that
the cam inside is offset by 27 degrees? Or is the engine timed out at 27
degrees. Presently without Vac advance I run 22 degrees timing, I would love to
run higher but my engine starts to ping at about 25.

I was thinking of drilling a hole to get the proper vac advance for my dizzy as
the previous post had mentioned. I was going to put in a five speed tranny next
year but at freeway speeds I would be just below my power curves, unless I want
to run at 70.

TIA

Rick
