Dear List:

Spent a few hours this weekend looking at the AH3000 BJ8 in Connecticut on
Sunday, and after a brief visual inspection and with the advice of a local
English car specialist, determined that the thing is not only unsalvagable,
(the extensive frame damage implies that the car is likely to split in half
soon), but that there are virtually no useful parts to be removed. (The
carbs are probably rebuildable, but the owner really just wants the car out
of the garage). So anyway, the mechanic with whom I ventured there is
likely to see about scavenging it, and if anything is useful, he'll be
offering me a finders fee. (Its not a big deal even if he doesn't.)

In any case, my $100 that I spent on the mechanic's advice and time was
probably the best $100 that I ever paid to any mechanic ever!

And a good thing too, since the acquisition of this pile of junk would have
necessitated the sale or removal of my perfectly good Midget, which has
lately been behaving a bit better. (Not perfectly though, I'm still having
starting problems, perhaps with the coil. More about that later).

Regards,

Charles
