I just got back on the list tonight. Back from a week's vacation in San
Diego to see
some of the Healey week. Because my Bugeye is not finished, I was not
registered for the
event and participation was very limited. In fact, I was only a spectator on
popular judging
day last Tuesday. I was warmly greeted by Bob and Annice Kitterer, who along
with their Mark
IV in disguise Bugeye, had many great looking Healeys on display by their
fellow club
members. The Spridget connection was represented by two square bodies and four
Bugeyes. The
majority were of the larger Healeys. Bob took me around and introduced me to
some very nice
folks in the San Diego club, some people from out of state and even someone
with the last
name Healey! I had a nice conversation with Norman Nock about big Healeys.
They even had a
Healey speed boat on display. I took many pictures and I'll post some as soon
as I get them
developed in a couple of days.
One more thing, I missed the thread about the jeweled red lens for the
instrument faces on
the Bugeye. I've got a rebuilt speedo in my instrument panel and an original
tach which did
not need rebuilding. I've even got an extra speedo courtesy of Peter C, whose
customer
satisfaction goes beyond the call of duty. None of these instruments had
anything but a hole
where the red lens should be. I've never seen one of these lenses. What do
you replace them
with?
